What dynamic pricing actually does
Dynamic pricing means your rate moves with demand instead of sitting still. A room that's filling fast for next Saturday should cost more; a quiet Tuesday in the low season should cost less to win the booking. Galaxy builds this on top of your season and day-of-week rate plans, so pricing has structure and still reacts. You decide how aggressive the swings are — a gentle nudge or a full demand curve — and nothing publishes without your say. GST stays correct on every folio, whatever the night's rate.
Set the logic once, sync everywhere
The reason most hotels avoid demand pricing is the busywork — changing rates by hand across six extranets. Galaxy removes that. Set your logic once and the channel manager pushes every price change to every OTA in real time, with per-OTA differences intact. Prefer the software to propose the numbers? The AI rate planner reads demand and suggests a price per night, so you approve rather than calculate. Either way the work is minutes, not hours across extranets.
Fill more nights at a better rate
Dynamic pricing isn't only about charging more — it's about charging right. Dropping a quiet midweek rate at the correct moment turns an empty room into revenue, while holding firm on a peak weekend protects your ADR. Used alongside the other levers that increase occupancy, demand-based rates lift RevPAR without a race to the bottom. The goal is the most revenue per available room, not the highest rate or the fullest hotel taken on its own.

FAQ
Dynamic Pricing — questions hotel owners ask
Does dynamic pricing set rates without my approval?
Only if you want it to. By default Galaxy suggests prices and you publish them. You can set guardrails — minimum and maximum rates — so any automated change always stays inside limits you're comfortable with.
Can I price differently on each OTA?
Yes. Keep per-OTA rates and meal-plan variations, and dynamic changes respect them. A Booking.com price and an Agoda price can move together while staying different by the exact margin you set.
Will this start a price war with nearby hotels?
No. Dynamic pricing here follows your own demand and pace of bookings, not a race to undercut neighbours. It protects your peak rates as firmly as it fills your quiet nights.
Is dynamic pricing worth it for a small hotel?
Yes. Even a 10-room property loses real money leaving weekends underpriced all season. Automated adjustments do the watching for you, so a small team captures the same upside a larger hotel's revenue manager would.
